Scale Chart Drills - Play Scale Chart

These drills will help you to learn and master scale charts.
Within each drill, there are options to either 'study' - a flash-card like interface for for questions in that drill, multiple-choice, and freeform text. Some drills won't have both multiple choice and freeform, but when they do the multi-choice is typically easier than the freeform.

1: Diatonic

These are the "normal scales" you typically see in western music (major, minor, etc), and are made up of seven-note scales following a pattern of whole and half steps.

2: Harmonic Minor

A seven-note scale based on the natural minor, but with a raised seventh degree.

3: Harmonic Major

A seven-note scale identical to the diatonic (major), but with a lowered 6th.

4: Pentatonic

A five-note scale, similar to the diatonic scale but without the fourth or seventh degrees.

5: Other

Other scales that don't fit cleanly into other listed groups.
